The Piobaireachd of the Day series at The National Piping Centre Otago Street will see a prize-winning performer present a Piobaireachd of their choice, as well as giving a short talk about the tune, its history and how they play it.

Monday 12th August (2.30pm)
Monday’s Piobaireachd of the Day brings Jim McGillivray and Matt MacIsaac together for a very special performance.
Uncovered: “Lament for Sandy Cameron,” by Roderick Campbell – find out more about “Lament for Sandy Cameron” an unpublished and unknown new piobaireachd. Jim McGillivray tells the story of the relationship between Roddy Campbell and John Wilson and introduces this new, gem of a tune. Matt MacIsaac performs the piobaireachd.

Tuesday 13th August (3.30pm)
Tuesday’s Piobaireachd of the Day is presented by John Wilson and will feature the music of Donald MacLeod, including a newly discovered Piobaireachd as part of the launch of the revised edition of Donald MacLeod’s Piobaireachd Compositions.
Piobaireachd of the Day – Allan MacDonald
Wednesday 14th August (2.30pm)
Wednesday’s Piobaireachd of the Day is from Allan MacDonald who will explore his theories on this ancient music and perform pieces.
Piobaireachd of the Day – Patrick Molard
Thursday 15th August (3.30pm)
Thursday’s Pioabireachd of the Day is from one of Brittany’s finest exponents of Highland Piping, Patrick Molard. This event will follow a showing of his new film about Piobaireachd.
