Angus Nicolson

Angus Nicolson comes from the Isle of Skye and was taught by Iain MacFadyen and later by Iain MacDonald, Glenuig.  Angus competed a lot at junior level and after leaving school studied Music Performance at Lews Castle College, Benbecula.  For years Angus has performed at festivals, both at home and internationally, playing with a variety of acts including The Angus Nicolson Trio, Seudan, The Margaret Stewart Trio and other commissons.  Angus is also a regular sight on the ceilidh band scene as well as tv and radio, and is becoming popular as a recitalist.  He has two critically acclaimed albums released with The Angus Nicolson Trio, “Lasses That Baffle Us” and “Sealladh Ard” with plans for more recording in the future.  Today, Angus lives in Fort William and drives for Scotland’s number 1 coach operator Shiel Buses, but still manages time for his piping.  Angus is very true to his roots and this shines through in his playing
