I started bagpiping at the age of 6 in Fife, when I was 10 I moved to Auckland, New Zealand where I played in bands and solos.

I was taught solos by Brian Switalla and have won best u21 solo piper, CNP bronze and silver medals. During my time in NZ I played with SFU and lived in Vancouver for three months when I was 16. When I was 18 I moved back to Scotland to continue my piping career and have been playing in the solo circuit every year, I now go to Iain Speirs for solo lessons. I also enjoy playing in various ceilidh bands outside the solo competing world.
