In 2025, Piping Live! will see its biggest change since its 2018 move from George Square, with the development of a brand new Festival Site at The National Piping Centre.
There some great new developments for 2025. Find out more about our new Festival Site and how you get tickets to access this and all our events below.

This new Festival Site will include the Centre Stage, which will host performances by emerging talent, international artists, pipe bands and a headline act each day.
The Bothy Tent will be an acoustic space, with more live music, ceilidh tots each morning, book launches, talks and more throughout the day.
Belhaven is our new bar sponsor and is partnering with us to develop and deliver this fantastic new site.
This all means and expanded event at McPhater Street, with more music, more to enjoy across the day and real festival feel!
Festival Site Opening Times
Monday 11th 8.30am - 7.30pm
Tuesday 12th 9.30am - 7.30pm
Wednesday 13th 9.30am - 7.30pm
Thursday 14th 9.30am - 7.30pm
Friday 15th 9.30am - 6pm
The Piping Live! merchandise tent will be open between 10.30am and 6.30pm (until 6pm on Friday). Our shop at McPhater Street will be open during the Festival (Mon 8am-7.30pm, Tues-Thurs 9am-7.30pm, Fri 9am-5pm, Sat/Sun 9am-3pm) However it will only be open to those who can access the Festival site with a Festival pass. The shop at Otago Street will be open and fully accessible as usual between 9am and 5pm, Mon-Fri. Food will be available onsite from our Kitchen Tent while the Festival site is open. Water will be freely available onsite to those who bring a reusable water bottle.
This new festival site will be ticketed, with tickets available on a per day basis, a week pass or a week pass + all the NPC events.
Tickets are:
- £10 Std / £9 concession per day Site Entry, wtith U16 Free ;
- £40 Std / £36 Concession all week Site Entry with U16 Free ;
- £149 Std / £134 Concession all week attendance + all NPC Ticketed Events.
Buying Tickets For The Festival Site And For Additional Events
- The first step is to buy your Festival Day Site Ticket at the link below.
- Your Festival Site Day Ticket provides entrance to the festival site where we will have two stages of world class artists running alongside other attractions.
- Once you have completed the purchase of your Festival Day Site Ticket and paid for it, you can access tickets for additional events through a link on the confirmation page and in your confirmation email.
- These additional events are the RG Hardie & Co Solo Piping Masters Competition; the Gordon Duncan Memorial Piping Competition; the Pipe Idol Grand Final sponsored by Fred Morrison; the Lunchtime Recitals and Learn@Live!
- You cannot attend these events if you have not purchased a Festival Day Site Ticket.
- You don’t have to buy all your tickets at once - you can buy your tickets for these additional events later on using the link in the confirmation email you received when you bought your Festival Day Site Ticket .
- It's the same if you have bought a Festival Week Pass. If you wish to attend any of the additional events, you can buy tickets using the link on the purchase confirmation email for the Festival Week Pass.
- For evening ticketed events at the National Piping Centre, Strathclyde Suite at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and at St Luke’s you will not need to buy a Festival Day Site Ticket.
- These events are Bann/Ceòlas; the G1 Reeds International Quartet Competition; the Pipe Major Alasdair Gillies Memorial Recital Challenge; and Friday Night Folk.
- There are also a number of free events around Glasgow. These do not require tickets.
- Concessions are available on all tickets for over 65s, under 16s, people with disabilities and any carers of people with disabilities.
- Concessions are also available for Festival Day Site Tickets, with those under 16 allowed free entry if accompanied by an adult.

Page Load issues on Iphone
We have had reports of our ticket page not loading on iPhone. This is because Safari on Apple devices blocks third-party cookies by default. Since the ticketing app depends on cookies to load the embed and maintain the shopping cart, these restrictions can prevent it from working properly.
Here’s how to adjust the settings that could help resolve this:
On your Mac:
- Open the Safari app.
- In the top menu bar, click Safari.
- Select Settings (or Preferences in older versions of macOS).
- Go to the Privacy tab.
- Make sure "Prevent cross-site tracking" is unchecked (the box should be empty).
- Close the Settings window.
By unchecking "Prevent cross-site tracking," you allow websites, third parties, and advertisers to store cookies and other data on your Mac—which our app needs to function correctly.
On your iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down and tap Safari.
- Scroll to the Privacy & Security section.
- Make sure "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking" is off (gray).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Advanced.
- Ensure "Block All Cookies" is also off (gray).
