Bagad Plougastell is a group founded 50 years ago in Plougastell-Daoulaz. Since then, it has toured the globe. From New York to Chile, the Bagad Plougstell stays true to its roots.
The band is instantly recognizable and stands out from the other bands due to its vibrant green vest, inspired by the traditional festive attire of young men from Plougastell. The vests feature embroidery, making each one virtually unique. Today, the group’s average age is around twenty, with a significant number of young members aged thirteen to sixteen embarking on their very first season with the band. This influx of youth is driven by the Ribl an Elorn music school, which trains young musicians for the Bagad. With 130 members, the school stands as a striking testament to the vitality of Breton music in the Plougastell region. This year, the Bagad Plougastell is embarking on an international tour that will take the group to Glasgow, to Strakonice in the Czech Republic, and to Taipei, Taiwan, for two performances of the show "Trois Eléphants Passent..." in collaboration with the street arts company Oposito. In addition, the Bagad will be performing across Brittany to share its music. 2026 is a packed schedule for the group brimming with energy!
