As a consequence of having such a healthy development far away from streets with all their social vulnerabilities, Brazilian Piper is considered to be a unique initiative, not just in Rio de Janeiro, but nationally and internationally. The boys have performed at other cities in Brazil and in Chile, Peru, Argentina and Uruguay. In addition to the pipe band’s vast repertoire of Celtic music, to emphasise its cultural diversity are classic theme tunes followed by a finale demonstrating the richness of Brazilian rhythms ending with dancing to famous samba tunes never before played by bagpipes - always guaranteeing the boys a well-earned standing ovation. Apart from Piping Live in Glasgow the band will perform at the Daily Ceilidh show in the Ross bandstand Princes Street Gardens from 12 to 19 August 2025 during the Edinburgh Festival. The show is an official event in the 200 years anniversary calendar of diplomatic and cultural relations between UK and Brazil.
