Brian Lamond is a highly respected Scottish bagpiper from Inverkeithing, Fife, known for his excellence in both solo and pipe band performance.
A protégé of the late Captain John A. MacLellan MBE, Lamond began piping at age eight and quickly rose through the ranks, winning multiple Cowal Gold Medals and making his BBC debut in his teens.
He has played with elite bands such as the Victoria Police Pipe Band and led the Dysart & Dundonald Pipe Band as Pipe Major, returning them to Grade 1 status. As a soloist, Lamond is a frequent prize-winner across Scotland and was the 2015 overall winner at the Pipe-Majors’ Wheel of Fortune.
Beyond performance, Lamond is a composer, recording artist, and reedmaker. His work includes the innovative album The Cosmic Piper, and his hand-crafted reeds are highly regarded among pipers. A multi-instrumentalist and teacher, Lamond continues to influence the piping world through his artistry and leadership.
