Fergus Muirhead

Fergus Muirhead has acted as the Master of Ceremonies for the Piping Live Festival in Glasgow since its inception. He has also compered events at the William Kennedy Piping Festival in Armagh and he is regularly involved in concerts featuring the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland at home and overseas.

He is an experienced Writer and Broadcaster and appears regularly on radio, TV and in the national press where he advises on all sorts of consumer and personal finance issues. His first book, A Piper’s Tale featuring stories from the world’s top pipers was published in 2013 by Cargo Publishing.

He has played pipes all over the world with a variety of pipe bands and folk bands and is a regular speaker on the Burns circuit, with his favourites being a wonderfully theatrical recital of Tam O’ Shanter and an Immortal Memory exploring Burns as a songwriter and the Politics of his songs and poems.
