August 1987 has often been talked about as the month that changed everything in the pipe band world. And at the centre of it all was the 78th Fraser Highlanders, who took Ballymena by storm in a concert on the Wednesday evening, and became the first non-Scottish band to lift the world title on the Saturday. Did their musical approach, style and stagecraft break new ground? Had we ever heard their likes before? Did that concert serve as a watershed moment in pipe band history?
Join a multi-generational panel, including some of the band's original members, for a listening party where we'll listen to the album in full and discuss these questions and many more, in this tribute to the man who led them from the front, and who sadly passed away earlier this year, the late Pipe Major Bill Livingtone.
