From the technical precision of the competition boards to the rhythmic drive of the West Highland dance tradition, these recitals celebrate the instrument in its purest form. This year’s lineup brings together four titans of the craft, each representing a unique branch of the piping family tree:

  • Monday: The innovative mastery of Bruce Gandy
  • Tuesday: The traditional craftsmanship and "cauld wind" expertise of Fin Moore
  • Wednesday: The legendary competitive pedigree of Murray Henderson
  • Thursday: The Hebridean soul and contemporary flair of Seonaidh MacIntyre

Whether you are a piobaireachd devotee or a fan of modern folk, these recitals provide a rare opportunity to hear the world's finest pipers in a premier acoustic setting.

Today's Performer is: Seonaidh MacIntyre
Seonaidh MacIntyre is a celebrated piper and multi-instrumentalist from Loch Carnan in South Uist, an island heartland of Gaelic music. Raised in a Gaelic-speaking community, Seonaidh’s style is deeply rooted in the Hebridean tradition. He was initially taught by Dòmhnall Bàn MacDonald and later mentored by Iain and Allan MacDonald of Glenuig while studying at Lews Castle College and Strathclyde University.
Though a piper first and foremost, Seonaidh is a versatile musician who also performs on whistle, guitar, and vocals. He is best known as a founding member of the award-winning band Trail West, with whom he has won numerous Scottish Traditional Music Awards, including "Live Act of the Year" in 2023. His original composition "Ar Cànan ’s ar Ceòl" won "Original Work of the Year" in 2024, highlighting his talent for bridging traditional piping with contemporary Gaelic song and performance.

This event will take place in the National Piping Centre Auditorium.
