From the technical precision of the competition boards to the rhythmic drive of the West Highland dance tradition, these recitals celebrate the instrument in its purest form. This year’s lineup brings together four titans of the craft, each representing a unique branch of the piping family tree:
Whether you are a piobaireachd devotee or a fan of modern folk, these recitals provide a rare opportunity to hear the world's finest pipers in a premier acoustic setting.
Today's Performer is: Fin Moore
Fin Moore is one of Scotland’s most versatile pipers and a master craftsman. Born into a celebrated piping family, Fin began his journey with the Vale of Atholl Juvenile Pipe Band before establishing himself as a premier performer on Highland, Border, and Scottish Smallpipes. He is a member of the acclaimed quartet Seudan, known for playing 18th-century reproductions, and performs regularly in a duo with fiddler Sarah Hoy.
Fin is equally famous for his work off the stage; since 2013, he has run the renowned pipemaking business founded by his father, Hamish. Together, they have produced over 1,000 sets of pipes played worldwide. A highly sought-after tutor, Fin teaches at major institutions including the Gaelic College in Cape Breton and the National Piping Centre. Combining his deep knowledge of step-dancing rhythms with technical mastery, Fin’s recitals offer a unique insight into the "cauld wind" revival and the traditional heart of Scottish music.
This event will take place in the National Piping Centre Auditorium.
