Every year over 8,000 of the world’s best pipers and drummers assemble for the World Pipe Band Championships. Glasgow will once again host this exciting event in 2026, the largest of its kind in the world.
The event will take place at Glasgow Green on Friday 14 August and Saturday 15 August with two action packed days of competition!
The Venue
Glasgow Green
The venue is situated within walking distance of the city centre, east of the Saltmarket. If you are travelling to the venue by taxi you should ask to for the Greendyke Street entrance to the Green. This site is across a fairly large open air area with slopes which may be prohibitive to those with difficulty walking longer distances. There are dropped kerbs at crossings, no steps and paved pathways throughout the site.
The World Pipe Band Championships don't require a Festival site ticket but are ticketed separately. You can find out more and access tickets here
