Yesterday was a great day in the sunshine at Piping Live! One of the many highlights was the Gordon Duncan Memorial Recital Challenge which was won by Matt MacIsaac. While today isn't looking so great weather wise, there's certainly no dip in the quality of the line up. 

We have sell out events featuring Fred Morrison, the Pipe Idol finalists and the competitors in tonight's Pipe Major Alasdair Gillies Memorial Recital Challenge. We will be doing a live stream from the Pipe Idol Final and we will premiere the re-watch of Fred's Lunchtime Recital tomorrow. You can still get an in person ticket for Fred's Learn@Live session at 10.30pm.

We have been working hard to overcome the technical difficulties with the live streams and ticketing for them and we are hopeful there will not be any problems today. If you get a message saying 'invalid credentials' when you log in for a live stream you have already purchased, we are advised that you should try a different browser - Microsoft  browsers have proved particularly erratic.

In the Street Cafe tent we will have Finlay MacDonald and Friends celebrating the launch of Finlay's new book at 1.30 followed by Lauren Collier at 3pm and Dana at 4.45. We also have the final heat of Pipe Idol at noon and the Grand Final in the Auditorium at 5pm. If you are coming to Street Cafe today please be patient as we manage the crowds at busy times and remember to be kind and courteous to our wonderful volunteers - without them there is no Piping Live!

If you're out and about in the city today you can catch the Armagh Pipers Club at Kelvingrove Art Gallery at 2pm, while Old Scotch and Nassau County Police Pipes & Drums and Gordon's School Pipe Band  are playing in Buchanan Street from 12.30pm onward. Please dress for wet weather as we are expecting rain for most of the day. We suggest that you check back here for updates on Buchanan Street bands in case the weather impacts on performances.
