Tuesday highlights at Piping Live! 2024
After a great, rain-free day yesterday we're up and running again with a great programme of events. Tickets for all our events yesterday sold out so don't hang about if you want tickets for today and for the rest of this week. You can catch James Duncan MacKenxie's lunchtime recital either in person at the National Piping Centre or via livestream at noon.
We're kicking off this morning with Learn@Live and the Pibroch Network Conversation here at the Piping Centre. Don't miss out on further learning opportunities today with Cabadaich Le Ceòlas at noon and Come and Try Piping at 2.30pm. You can also join us to practice your Gaelic skills at the Gaelic Conversation Cafe in the Piper's Tryst at 4pm.
The prestigious International Quartet Competition starts at the Royal Concert Hall this evening at 7.30pm, while the World Amateur Solo Piping Competition is taking place at Otago Street from 9am. .
Sgorr and EOGHANXO get us going at the Street Cafe from noon, with heat 2 of Pipe Idol and Enjoy Your Piping With Gary West later in the afternoon.. Dram are performing at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum at 2pm while EOGHANXO are heading over to Edinburgh this evening to play for our friends at the Scots Guards Club.
Our Buchanan Street Bands this afternoon are Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Isle of Arran Music School, City of Angels and Tynecastle School Pipe Bands. You can also catch the Royal Army of Oman Pipe Band rehearsing for the Worlds at Street Cafe at 6pm.
The weather is looking a bit mixed today so we advise dressing accordingly.
