G1 Reeds was initially founded by owner John Elliott who had at that time over 18 years of experience making reeds, chanters and other pipe band products to the highest standard.

He is renowned for his unforgiving ear and will accept nothing less than excellent. Since starting the business in 2010 making bagpipe reeds G1 Reeds has grown in size and now manufactures a range of bagpipe products. Our latest innovation, G1 platinum pipe chanters, are being played at the top of grade one by Inveraray and District and many other top bands. We have amassed a dedicated and meticulous team of workers who are trained to the same platinum standard G1 Reeds built their reputation on.
