Founded by Doddie Weir, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation have a clear vision: a world free of MND. They fund the smartest, most efficient MND research. They back bold ideas and bring together the best minds from across the globe. Their goal is simple: faster routes to effective treatments. Because when you're living with MND, time matters.
The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation is a prominent UK-based charity dedicated to achieving a world free of Motor Neuron Disease (MND). Founded in 2017 by the late Scottish rugby legend Doddie Weir OBE following his own diagnosis, the foundation operates on the firm belief that MND is not incurable, but rather research is underfunded. To change the future for people affected by the disease, the charity invests heavily in cutting-edge scientific research to accelerate the discovery of meaningful treatments and a definitive cure. Alongside funding clinical trials and laboratory breakthroughs, the foundation provides essential financial grants to individuals living with MND, helping them purchase specialist equipment or adapt their homes to live as fulfilled and comfortable a life as possible. Driven by major community-led fundraising initiatives like the annual Doddie Aid campaign, the organization serves as a powerful voice for patients, tirelessly raising public awareness and bringing global urgency to the fight against this devastating condition
