Piping Live! is delighted to be continuing their partnership with the Eagle Pipers Club, the renowned Edinburgh piping society. They are programming some fantastic music for this night, so head along to Edinburgh for some great tunes!
On the evening there will be 2 guest performers:
Alma Menor : Formed in 2014, the duo Alma Menor was born from a creative partnership that began in 2011 between accordionist Tiago Marques and bagpiper Tiago Morais. From the beginning, the project stood out for its originality and continuous exploration of new soundscapes. Their debut album, Em Tons de Aguarela (2018), introduced their distinct fusion of bagpipes and accordion and featured collaborations with acclaimed musicians from the Portuguese traditional music scene. In 2025, Alma Menor revealed Raízes de Xisto, the first chapter of an ambitious trilogy that redefines Portuguese traditional music through meticulous composition and innovative performance. 2025 marks a new milestone with the creation of new arrangements of pieces by Carlos Paredes, more original material, and the reinforcement of their reputation as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary Portuguese folk. Two new official videos accompany this release, offering powerful visual interpretations of their evolving sound.
Anna Kummerlöw : She began her piping journey under the guidance of her late father, Joachim Kummerlöw. Anna is currently taught by Callum Beaumont and spends time travelling to Scotland for the Highland Games circuit. She has had great success in both the German and the Scottish competition scene, including winning the Gold Medal at the Braemar Gathering (2017), second in the Silver Medal at Inverness (2023) and is one of a few women to compete at the Argyllshire Gathering and the Northern Meeting. This year she is playing her first season in Grade 1, with St Laurence O'Toole Pipe Band.
So head along to the Scots Guards Club at Haymarket, Edinburgh for a fantastic night of tunes - with free entry!
