Having already made an international impression with their infectious stage presence, Pluckin’ About masterfully weaves traditional Irish reels and jigs with modern, innovative influences.

Formed in late 2025 by a dynamic group of young musicians, Pluckin’ About are a modern trad band united by a shared passion for Irish music and high-energy live performance. Seamlessly blending the drive of contemporary folk with the deep roots of Irish tradition, they bring a fresh, vibrant sound to every stage.

Despite their recent formation, Pluckin’ About have already made an international impression, performing across Ireland, Italy, and Gran Canaria, earning a stellar reputation for their tight musicianship, infectious stage presence, and energetic sets. Their repertoire masterfully weaves traditional reels and jigs with modern influences, offering a broad appeal to lifelong trad fans and newcomers alike.

A defining element of the band’s signature sound is saxophone player Mark McCusker, whose jazz-inspired styling brings a brilliant, distinctive twist to the line-up. Piping Live! is thrilled to welcome Pluckin’ About to Glasgow as part of our 2026 Emerging Talent strand—expect a performance full of character, excitement, and innovative trad.

The programming on Centre Stage and in the Bothy are included in your Festival Site day or week ticket.
