Ladislas KLATKA is an experienced musician and trainer with extensive expertise in bagpipe instruction. He leads advanced training, manages bagpipe sections (Bagad de Landerneau, Beuzec, Elven, Keriz, Vire / Saint-Lô, Saint-Nazaire, Bro Tolosa, Normandy Highlands PB, Aubigny sur Nère PB, 92nd North Fox PB, etc.), and offers workshops, group lessons, and individual coaching. Since 2011, he has been part of the Sonerion 35 Bro Roazhon teaching team, working with multiple bagads across Ille-et-Vilaine.

Ladislas KLATKA has built a distinguished career in the world of pipe bands and bagad music. He served as pipe-major, pipe-sergeant, and sound and tuning manager for the renowned Bagad Brieg Pipe Band, leading the group to second place in Grade 2 at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow for two consecutive years and ultimately securing the Grade 2 World Championship title in 2014. Under his leadership, Bagad Brieg regularly qualified for finals from 2006 to 2018 and achieved numerous top results in Brittany competitions.

In 2018, Ladislas founded the 35 Club Pipe Band, supported by Sonerion 35, creating a platform for experienced musicians in Ille-et-Vilaine to pursue excellence and aim for the World Pipe Band Championships finals.

In 2023, he joined Grade 1 Closkelt Pipe Band from Northern Ireland, competing at the highest level under the guidance of acclaimed reed and chanter makers David and Johnny Chesney.

Ladislas’ bagad journey began in 2001 with Kevrenn An Daou Loupard and continued with Bagad Quic en Groigne before joining Bagad Brieg in 2006. As leader and tuning manager, he contributed to their Breton championship win in 2007 and maintained the band’s reputation for precise, high-quality performances. His experience includes concerts at major venues and festivals, including the Zenith in Paris, St. Patrick’s Night at Bercy, and collaborations with artists like Tri Yann.

As a soloist, Ladislas has earned multiple awards, including two wins at the Anne-de-Bretagne Festival and first prize at the Festival de Cornouaille. He has also competed internationally in prestigious events such as the McCrimmon International Trophy and the Gordon Duncan Memorial Competition.

Beyond performing, Ladislas has substituted for Soldat Louis in concert tours and shared the stage with renowned musicians like Carlos Nùñez, Alan Stivell, and Dan Ar Braz. He has judged bagad and solo competitions across various categories and continues to hone his craft with French Central Region bagpipes.

In 2024, Ladislas became the exclusive agent for R.G. Hardie in France through St Kilda France, providing top-tier bagpipe equipment and traditional Scottish attire with expert care.
