Ali Hutton is a multi instrumentalist and producer from Perthshire. He has played the Bagpipes since the age of 7 and was taught by the late, great Gordon Duncan. Ali has played with some of Scotlands top folk bands such as Capercaille, Back of the Moon, Dougie MacLean, Salsa Celtica and Treacherous Orchestra. He has toured the world for many years and has recorded on many award winning albums. He currently performs with From the Ground, The Finlay MacDonald Band, The Malin Lewis Trio, Ross Ainslie and Lauren Collier. He has recently returned to the Pipe Band world after a 20 year hiatus and has taken on the mantle of Pipes Major of the Livingston Caledonia Pipe Band.

The centre serves as a national and international centre of excellence for the great Highland Bagpipe and its music.
The Festival Site with the Centre Stage and Bothy Tent, as well as our food and drink tents will be on outside here on McPhater Street.

Accessibility
The National Piping Centre and Pipers' Tryst restaurant has step access at both doors.
There is a lift available from the side of the building to all floors.
During Piping Live! access is through the ramped entracne to the Street Cafe, cross the marquee and then out the other door to the lift area. There is also an accessible toilet here.
