The festival, developed by SunnyG radio, forms part of Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games celebrations and will bring together live music, local performers, community groups, DJs, choirs and family-friendly activity in the heart of Govan. The Piping Live! team will be on site during the event with our come and try sessions from some of our NPC Piping Club Tutors, to give you a taster of piping as part of this amazing festival line up!
Riverside Worldwide Festival will celebrate Govan’s creativity, diversity and community spirit, while showcasing the area’s deep musical heritage and its connection to the wider world. The line-up includes Scottish pop legends The Bluebells, alongside 12 Guitars, The Glasgow Barons – The Silver Keys, CCTV, Steg G & The Freestyle Master, The Grand Scheme, Piping Live!, Govan Allsorts Choir, Sunny Govan DJs and more to be announced.
Taking place beside the River Clyde, the festival will transform Riverside Park into a free outdoor celebration for local people, families and visitors, with live performances throughout the day.
The festival will also include involvement from Piping Live!, bringing Scotland’s piping tradition into the programme and connecting local audiences with one of the country’s major music festivals.
Riverside Worldwide Festival is designed to be accessible, welcoming and free to attend, removing cost barriers and giving the community a chance to come together during a major year for Glasgow.
