The Raasay/Restitution competition sponsored by Isle of Raasay Distillery, is held on the Island of Raasay every year on the first Saturday of September, aiming to reunite piping with its Gaelic Roots. The close links between piping to the rhythms of the Gaelic Language and to Step Dance have, until recently, been lost.
In this 'previous winners' concert, Angus Nicolson, Ailis Sutherland, Ciar Milne and Dr Decker Forrest will treat us to tunes from their winning selections -the finest examples of piping in an original context. Join us from 7pm for an Isle of Raasay dram tasting before the concert starts.
Thank you to the Isle of Raasay Distillery for sponsoring this event and their ongoing support for the Raasay/Restitution Competition
William Dobbie, Isle of Raasay Distillery said: The Raasay/Restitution Piping Competition is now one of our most anticipated events of the year on the Isle of Raasay. While we look forward to hosting it again in September 2026, we are thrilled to sponsor a special showcase at this year's Piping Live in Glasgow, bringing a taste of the competition to a global audience. The concert will feature winners from previous years, inviting attendees to enjoy the incredible music while we pour our lightly peated single malts: The Draam, Dùn Cana and The Chinkapin.
Please drink responsibly.
Tickets for this event will gain access to the festival site on Monday from 7pm only. If you want to enter earlier in the day, please purchase a Monday Festival site ticket or week pass.
